Happy New Year To All!!!!

I hope you all have a safe and Happy New Year! I think we have alot to be thankful for with the start of 2009. We also have alot to look forward to... Lisa and Mikes wedding, Olivias 1st birthday and just plan good health and happiness.
“May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.”

New Years Eve...almost upon us!

We owe it to "baby new years" to get shi_ faced!

Today's Chuckle.....

500 Penguins

There was this truck driver who had to deliver five hundred penguins to the state zoo. As he was driving his truck through the desert, the truck breaks down. After waiting by the side of the road for about three hours he waves another truck down and offers the driver $500 to take these penguins to the state zoo for him.

The next day the first truck driver arrives in town and sees the second truck driver crossing the road with 500 penguins walking in single file behind him.

The first truck driver jumps out of his truck and says, "What's going on? I gave you $500 to take these penguins to the zoo!"

The second truck driver replies, "I did take them to the zoo. And I had enough money left over so now we're going to see a movie."

Moms in group therapy

A psychiatrist was conducting a group therapy session with four young
Mothers and their small children."You all have obsessions," he observed.
To the first mother, Mary, he said, "You are obsessed with eating.
You've even named your daughter Candy."He turned to the second Mom, Ann: "Your
obsession is with money. Again, it manifests itself in your child's name,
Penny."He turned to the third Mom, Joyce: "Your obsession is alcohol. This too shows itself in your child's name,Brandy."
At this point, the fourth mother, Kathy, quietly got up, took her little
boy by the hand and whispered, "Come on,Dick,
this guy has no idea what he's talking about. Let's go pick up
Peter and Willy from school and go get dinner."

Today's Brain Teaser.....

You are on your way to visit your Grandma, who lives at the end of the valley. It's her birthday, and you want to give her the cakes you've made.

Between your house and her house, you have to cross 7 bridges, and as it goes in the land of make believe, there is a troll under every bridge! Each troll, quite rightly, insists that you pay a troll toll. Before you can cross their bridge, you have to give them half of the cakes you are carrying, but as they are kind trolls, they each give you back a single cake.

How many cakes do you have to leave home with to make sure that you arrive at Grandma's with exactly 2 cakes?

Tuesday Update for Debbie

Talked to Deb this afternoon. Dr's say that it is peritonitis afterall. They've already changed her antibiotics to accommodate this. She's finally getting hungry, although they said nothing by mouth for atleast another day or two. The drs said from here on out, it is a day by day thing. They're monitoring her enzymes to make sure that she is on the mend, so we'll have to play it by ear as to when she can come home. That's all fer now.

Monday Update for Deb

Mom and I went to see Deb today. Her color is starting to come back now - atleast she doesn't look like Casper any longer!!! They read her CT Scan results and are doing a repeat per Dr. Orloff. They don't believe it is an abcess any longer. The tech saw a "sack" on her pancreas. They are thinking along the lines of pancreatitis. As Gramma and I were leaving at 2 pm, she just finished drinking her contrast fluid for this scan today at 3 pm. I have asked Deb to call me and let me know what, if anything, that they say. Hopefully, it's small and manageable. I will call Bella when I hear from her because I am working 7 to 11 pm tonight at my private case. Kim, thanks for the kudos, hun, but no man is an island. Everyone has had a hand in ensuring that things get taken care of and Deb spends as little time alone as possible. We're all chipping in one way or the other. But thanks again, sweetie.

Thank You Alicia!!!!

I just wanted to express how much I appreciate that you have been able to to be Mom's liason this whole time. I appreciate all of the updates as they come and like everyone else I am praying for things to go well. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You have been an angel!!! I wish I were there to get them myself.

Lisa/Mike- Eclair cake( as per Momma Auddies req)Ican't tell you how excited I am to have the whole family here together.Yes there will be a few missing ( Holli, Kim and families)however you will be with us in thought. If there is something else you would like please let me know.

**** UPDATE ****

Hi all...

Left the hospital around 3:50 ish this afternoon. She was drinking her prep fluid for her CT scan. They figure that around 4 :15ish or so they would come to get her and hopefully if she was able to drink enough prep stuff, they'd take her to the CT area. Deb is going to try to call me when she comes back afterwards. I don't expect that she'll know much - being a Sunday, I'd lay bets that nobody will read it as quickly as at other times. If she doesn't call me, I will call her, but she was pretty groggy. They've changed her to dilaudid, which makes her gaggy as well as it keeps ya pretty "liquored up". PICC line is still not out at this point. Not quite sure what they're waiting for, but we'll trust them at this point. Blood clots appear to be reacting to the heaparin, too. I will let you know more as I become aware.

New Debbie Info

I will let everyone know what room they put Debbie in when she gets there. She is going to call me and let me know the room # as well as her phone #. They're aiming to dissolve the clots surrounding her PICC line area with I.V. doses of heparin. Considering that she's previously had a DVT, they're going to be pro-active by thinning her blood and ensuring that the clots don't travel anywhere. I will post on here when I hear from her.

Clunk!

My dad, an auto mechanic, received a repair order that read: "Check for clunking sound when going around corners."

Taking the car out for a test drive, he made a right turn, and a moment later he heard a clunk. He then made a left turn and again heard a clunk.

Back at the shop, he opened the car's trunk, and soon discovered the problem. Promptly he returned the repair order to the service manager with this notation: "Remove bowling ball from trunk".

Debbie called me tonight and it seems that her insurance has approved her little "dust buster". She is expected to be discharged tomorrow between 11:30 and 12 noon. I will pick her up, weather providing. Finally! She can get back to her surroundings. God knows, her kitty misses her badly. She even let me pet her today!!!

Saturday's Math Teaser.....

Camp Pineveiw's cook, Margaret Johnson, was just about to begin preparing the picnic lunch for all the campers. She already knew she needed to fill 55 bowls of the same size and capacity with the same amount of food. When she was done, she decided to read the guidelines for the picnic, just out of curiosity. The guidelines said:

1. Every camper gets their own bowl of soup.
2. Every two campers will get one bowl of spaghetti to share.
3. Every three campers will get one bowl of salad to share.
4. All campers are required to have their own helping of salad, spaghetti, and soup.

After some rapid calculations, Margaret was able to figure out how many campers were going to the picnic. Can you?

Thursday Update for Debbie

Heather and I went to see her today and each day she is doing much better. She probably won't be able to go home until Sunday or so, and when she does she will have to have a nurse come to her house and take blood and monitor her progress. I won't be able to go see her as I have to work Fri and Sat.

The swelling in her face has gone down and she is looking more like herself.
Still not on solid foods yet but any day I guess. All signs are good and they actually took her for a walk while we were there. They intend to walk her 3 times a day!! Another day closer to normal again.

Monday's Science question....

What term (name) is a pregnant Goldfish referred as?

Update on Aunt Debbie: Pammy called me around 7pm Sunday night and said surgery went well. She was hoping to see her when she came out of recovery around 9 or 10 pm. I am planning on stopping by either late morning or early afternoon. I don't have the room number at Strong Memorial, but understand she may be moved to the 6th. floor at some point if not already! Details to follow. If you have newer info. please post for everyone to read. Thanks Jim
