The story of the "White Lady" of Rochester, New York.

There is a legend of a white lady ghost that dates back many years ago when a young teenage girl lived near Durand Eastman beach with her mom. As the legend goes, the girl told her mother that she was going for a walk along the beach.

She loved her walks on the beach and had done this practically every day. However, she did tell her mother of a strange man that lived up the street from them that “made her feel funny”, but that was not enough to stop her from her daily walks.

After a long while the mother began to worry since her daughter had not returned and night was beginning to fall. This was not her usual pattern; she always was back before dark after her walk. The mother started out and began searching along the beach and the path that her daughter always took to and from the beach. She could not find her anywhere. The mother then called the police and even told them about the “uneasy feelings” her daughter had about the man down the street. Of course, the police explained they could not arrest the man without any type of proof that he had harmed her daughter.

The police did not help much with the hunt, but the mother was not about to give up that easy. Every night she would go out with her two German Shepherds and comb the area in search of her daughter.

After several years of searching without finding even a small trace of evidence of what might had happened, the mother committed suicide by jumping off a cliff into Lake Ontario.

Many visitors here at night have seen the mother along with her two dogs still searching for her missing daughter.

The legend even goes deeper. It has been told that if you believe that your boyfriend of spouse is being unfaithful, all you have to do is take him to the lake and park. If he is being unfaithful, the white lady will appear in a fog. He will be the only one to see her but he will not be able to stop himself from telling you the entire truth about his unfaithfulness.

The missing girl was never found and to this day her disappearance remains a mystery.

Highland Park Cemetery
Posted on 7th December 2009 in Analysis & Observation, Anomaly, Cemetery, Ghost Hunting, Ghosts, Luminous Phenomenon, Mount Hope Cemetery, Paranormal, Regional Hauntings, WNY Regional Hauntings

It is a known fact that some of the former residents of the “Almshouse” and “Insane Asylum” still exist in Highland Park as fragmentary remnants and whole skeletal remains.

It is not advised to travel about Highland Park or any park location for that matter in Monroe County New York after dark on foot unless you are accompanied by a large group.

Highland Park, much like Mount Hope Cemetery, both contain a surreal atmosphere after dark which creates a heaviness to the air and a hint of danger as there exists so many sections which defy any penetration by illumination leaving only guesswork as to what may exist beyond the shadows.

Perhaps at this point may we be able to shed a little light on this subject, which is precisely what we had discovered.

Points of different colored lights remaining momentarily stationary just over one of the numerous hills found throughout the park before blinking out of sight!

Now after having witnessed and captured by photograph first hand this unique regional phenomena, we of Rochester Paranormal do hereby officially declare Highland Park as haunted
