Satrurday Brain Teaser.....

Gone Fishing

Jared sent his cousin a postcard from the lake where he was vacationing with his family. Instead of directly telling his cousin the size of the fish he caught, he wrote a puzzle:

The fish's head was 5 inches long. The fish's tail was the length of the head plus half the length of the fish's body. The body equaled the length of the head plus the length of the tail.

What was the total length of the fish?

Geez Jim, this reminds me of the math problems I had in school as a kid such as: If a train was traveling from NY to Chicago going 70 mph and left the station at NY at 8:05 am and a train was leaving LA for Chicago traveling at 55 mph leaving LA station at 7:25 am, what's the name of the engineers? I didn't get that and I don't get this.
