Auddy Momma Update!
Mom had her 3 month follow up with Dr Barr this morning. He is her Chemo Dr. She had to do some blood work, but great news!!! She is in total remission! He is tickled at her "perfect" lab numbers. She is going for a PET scan sometime next week to absolutely confirm that the cancer has gone nowhere else in her body. Dr Barr seemed confident that this PET scan will be just a formality. Next month, she sees her Radiation Doc, Dr Constine. At that time, he will officially declare her in remission and from there, he and Dr Barr will alternate seeing her every 3 months just to "follow her" and ensure that she has no issues going on. At her appt with Dr Barr in March, he will discuss with her the option to finally remove her Medi Port in her clavicle area. This will be the caboose on the train! Dr Barr feels very strongly that the Lymphoma will NOT come back in the affected arm ever again. However, that being said, he wants to follow her every 3 months forever, because it could POSSIBLY return elsewhere. He did not dwell on that because she looks great and is feeling more like her old self again. He said she can get her flu shot and have her cataract surgery whenever she wants. As for the remaining swelling in her arm, we will have to return to the Lymphedema Clinic @ URMC to have the PT initiate therapy. Perhaps we can arrange for a lymph sleeve to wear long term to reduce some of it.
Final thoughts - she is doing beautifully and he couldn't be more pleased!

That is so great!! Amazing where this has gone in the last year!
Sure is!
I'm relieved it's over (and I am sure she feels the same way)!!! Now to get her cataract and vision to a point where she can enjoy SOME of the things she used to.
