    Corn-flakes were the very first cereal and was made by Dr John Harvey Kellogg (hence Kellogg's corn-flakes) in 1894. They were originally invented to be a health supplement for patients of Dr. Kellogg.

    FYI. Just found this on the web.

    btw, Cheerios was also manufactured in Buffalo!!!
